As the years pass and we watch more and more of our family, friends and mentors pass away, it is only natural to ask questions about heaven. However, our understanding of heaven is often limited to a few half-forgotten Sunday school lessons and the insubstantial images provided by popular movies and T.V. Fortunately, in Heaven Randy Alcorn provides us with a thoroughly researched and biblically definitive description of heaven. As Alcorn addresses our most serious questions about heaven, including the nature of judgment, and answers a few of our less serious questions as well, including the accessibility of cafe mochas the sweet by and by, we will develop a deeper understanding of our eternal destination and will find the courage to strive for heaven while we're living on earth.
This is a 7-week life group that will focus on studying what the Bible teaches us about a Christian’s eternal destination; Heaven. Minimal reading is required as the class consists of a DVD presentation by Randy Alcorn (the author of the book Heaven) followed by group discussion. There is, however, a workbook for you to purchase so that you need to write in it during class. Optional daily devotional reading is included in the workbook if you choose to “go deeper” into this topic between classes.
Since you’re going to be spending way more than 100 billion years in paradise, wouldn’t like to know a little bit about Heaven? Knowing what you have to look forward to will change your perspective on what is going on down here on Earth and will give you strength to persevere until you go to Heaven to be with The Lord or Christ returns (whichever comes first).
All adults, age 20 and older, are welcome; unfortunately no childcare is available. To foster a healthy group discussion, the class size will be limited to 12 participants.
We recommend that those interested in participating in this session review the WAHU Calendar carefully to insure that they can attend the sessions. If for some reason you register for the session and then you cancel out you will be asked to donate $50.00 to the WAHU fund. Your fund is not a penalty but will be used on future candidates that enter the WAH program. So in essence you are kingdom building.
SPONSOR A BROTHER
If you would like to help sponsor a WAH candidate you can do it through the on-line giving.
Did you not know that (we) must be about (the) Father’s business?
"And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
The LORD is a man of war; The LORD is His name.
